  • Studio discussion with Vibeke Løkkeberg, Claudia von Alemann & Ingrid S. Holtar

In 1973 filmmaker Vibeke Løkkeberg was invited by Helke Sander and Claudia von Alemann with her film Abort (1971) to the First International Women’s Film Seminar in West Berlin. There she conducted interviews that were supposed to become part of a film she was making about the working conditions of women in the media. The film was meant to be a reckoning with the male dominated industry but was never finished. The film prints resurfaced without sound in 2019 at the National Library of Norway. A live commented screening of the visual material took place at Archival Assembly #2 in June 2023. Meanwhile the sound of the film has been found and can be screened together with the images. feminist elsewheres presents for the first time a fifteen-minute work print together with a selection of unedited scenes, framed by a studio discussion with Vibeke Løkkeberg and film scholar Ingrid S. Holtar as well as the festival organizers of 1973, Helke Sander and Claudia von Alemann. (fe)
